Our Privacy Policy

Empire Safety Council ("ESC") recognizes that it is critical for individuals to be confident that their privacy is protected when they visit our website. ESC is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and visitors to our Internet Point and Insurance Reduction Program (iPIRP). The information about you (the "USER") collected by ESC is subject to this privacy policy. By disclosing personal information to ESC, the USER agrees to the terms of this privacy policy.
Consistent with the provisions of the Internet Security and Privacy Act, the Freedom of Information Law, and the Personal Privacy Protection Law, this policy describes our privacy practices regarding information collected from the USERs of this website. This policy describes what information is collected and how that information is used. The ESC privacy policy is outlined below.
Collection and Storage of Information: ESC will collect certain personal information when the USER registers for the ESC online course. For purposes of this policy, "personal information" means any information concerning a natural person which, because of name, number, symbol, mark, or other identifier, can be used to identify that natural person. We do not collect any personal information about you unless you provide that information voluntarily during registration, by sending an e-mail, by responding to a survey, or completing an on-line transaction.
Information Collected Automatically When You Register for our Online Course: When registering for our online course, we automatically collect and store information about you (the "USER"). The collected/stored information is as follows:
(i) First Name
(ii) Middle Name
(iii) Last Name
(iv) Street Address
(v) Address (including street address, city, state, and zip code)
(vi) Phone Number
(vii) Email Address
(viii) Date of Birth
(ix) Driver's License Number
ESC maintains this information in its customer database.
Use of This Information: This collected/stored information is used:
- To provide the USER with access to the ESC online course;
- To provide the DMV with information about the USER's completion;
- To process and facilitate delivery of the Certificate of Completion; and
- For administrative, customer service, and technical support purposes.
ESC will not share the USER's personal information with parties not affiliated with or outside of its organization.
USER's Rights: The USER may review and approve the information collected upon registration in the ESC customer database. Upon request, ESC will remove that information from its customer database or edit personal information that the USER states is erroneous.
Information Security Policy: ESC takes extensive precautions to ensure the security of the USER's information both online and offline.
Online: Private information entered by the USER in the ESC registration process (i.e. driver's license number, payment information) is encrypted and protected by a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate. On a secure page, the USER will see a lock icon in the Security Status bar of his/her web browser.
Offline: ESC also protects the USER's private information offline. We limit access to personal information to ESC employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to perform their administrative duties and/or to operate, develop or improve our services. Individuals who have access to this information follow appropriate procedures in connection with any disclosures of personal information and must comply with the ESC privacy and security policies.
Appropriate security measures are taken to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. The servers on which ESC stores the USER's information are maintained in a fully secure and monitored facility.
